Battery Life – Replace your battery – Read the signs before its too late!

This is what happens to your battery when you don’t read the signs. If it’s not charging or telling you to replace the battery. Maybe it’s time? Before it explodes or expands you note book destroying to casing. Believe it or not I have seen it bend metal. If it’s not holding charge its technically becoming an element (best known for heating your house or a stove) and overcharge can cause an explosion. The Average battery replacement for a PC is $95 and $149 for a Mac. Get working away from the power point again and update your Battery.

DATA Recovery

DATA Recovery

Data recovery it’s not something you really want to think about. That’s the problem. The best form of data recovery is pre-emptively avoiding the problem is the first place by backing up correctly to begin with. Contract IT offers multiple backups solutions. However if you find yourself in a situation where we need to recover data for you you have come to the right place with 20 years experience in data recovery. Data recovery isn’t a simple thing and my best way of explaining it is, it looks like the branches of a tree. You might get to the end branch quickly at the bottom of the tree or it might take a long time and a lot of branches before you get the end result, or possibly even no result at all after a lot of work.

Liquid Spills

Liquid Spills

If you’ve spilt water in your laptop there is no easy fix. You just need to get it to a technician quickly for the best chance of repair and recovery. It has to be dried out properly and the battery needs to be disconnected immediately before any damages done. The pictures you see are of a customers computer that sat in rice overnight, and as you can see it did very little or nothing at all but help corrode some of the plugs and components.

Water damage

Water damage

This is a classic example of the damage water can do. Never put your drinks in with the laptop or leave them close to your computer when you’re working on it. If you do spill liquid into the laptop turn it off immediately and remove the battery and get it to a technician ASAP as there will still be a chance for it to work again. If power is left connected to a water damage product corrosion can virtually happen overnight.
